MAASAI RELIGION
The Maasai are monotheistic, and their God is Engai or Enkai, a mainly benevolent God who shows himself in different colors according on how he feels. Said hues have specific meanings: black and dark blue denote God's favoritism toward men; red, on the other hand, denotes God's annoyance.
Enkai appears in two forms:
The excellent and loving Enkai-Narok, the Black God, gives greenery and prosperity. Thunder and rain are where he can be located.
The Red God, Enkai-na-Nyokie, is vengeful and brings famine and hunger. He is associated with the dry season and is discovered in lightning.
